Installing on Android 5

Unfortunatly, owing to an error in setting up the build, Version 4.00 from the Google Play Store only runs on Android 6 and upwards. And because of the way the Play Store works, this cannot be corrected, however it was my mistake.

V4.00 will run on Android 4, 5, but you can't get it from the Play Store, you can download the APK for SpotLog v4.00 for Android 4 and 5 here 


To install SpotLog on Android 5

  • Download the APK file from the above link to your Android device.
  • In settings, enable "Install from unknown sources":
    • Open Settings on the device
    • Open the "Security" section
    • Enable "Unknown Sources"  "Allow installation of apps from sources other than the play store"

      unfortunatly, this is required to install the app from this website, it is not normally recommended, but there is not option if you want to install SpotLog on an Android 5 device.

  • Open the APK file downloaded above (if you downloaded from the webpage on your device, the file will be in your "Downloads" folder
  • The package will install SpotLog on your device

Once the installation is complete, it is recomended you turn off "unknown sources" in the security settings
